ARCS® Foundation Atlanta Chapter 2020 Retreat to Pittsburgh

Wednesday, May 13 – Sunday, May 17th

Four Days of Festivities when you can:

Say hello at our opening reception and dinner at the exclusive Duquesne Club.

Join in an optional historian-led walking tour of Pittsburgh before visiting Carnegie Mellon and an interactive session on The Chemistry of Taste. Take part in a Tedx style presentation by the Carnegie Mellon faculty on cutting-edge research in areas such as robotics, cybersecurity and autonomous cars. 

Enjoy dinner at The Frick.  We will tour the house, then move to the Carriage House museum for cocktails and dinner. 

Visit the University of Pittsburgh Human Engineering Research Laboratory for a tour led by director Rory Cooper.  His team will lead us through some very interesting and interactive sessions. These innovative researchers will join us for lunch.  

Immerse yourselves in the Carnegie Museum of Natural History, one of Pittsburgh's greatest treasures, and meet the Associate Curator of Vertebrate Paleontology, Matt Lamana. You will be guided through the Paleolab, Dinosaurs in Their Time and the Big Bone Room sections for lectures and tours on research aspects of paleontology.  

Explore the rest of the Carnegie, including the celebrated Museum of Art, or the beautiful city of Pittsburgh. A list of favorite sites & restaurants  will be provided.

Say goodbye at our farewell dinner at The National Aviary.  You will encounter beautiful, rare and endangered birds up close as you venture through the exhibits.

The cost of the trip is $799/person with a deposit of $300/person due at registration.  Balance of $499 is due on January 15, 2020.
