Ann Q. Curry Receives Lifetime Achievement Award

Posted on Friday, January 20, 2023

On November 3, 2022, in celebration of National Philanthropy Day, our ARCS Atlanta member Ann Curry received the Lifetime Achievement Award sponsored by the Association of Fundraising Professionals of Greater Atlanta.  The award was presented by Milton J. Little, Jr., President of United Way of Greater Atlanta.

The following are Ann’s words after receiving the award.

“There is so much work to be done in Atlanta. We all know the powerful, immediate need for affordable housing. We have many neighborhoods which need attention. We have continuing need for parks, for greenspace, for arts and culture that are accessible to everyone, not just Buckhead. The Library system, that I have always loved, needs attention because the potential of libraries to change lives is not diminished by the digital age. And, we have an overwhelming need to pay attention to new immigrants, to the homeless, to the struggling single mother, to children, and to those who are not as lucky as we are.  We come together as one city to do so, making sure that the city that welcomed me, can equally welcome and allow others to maximize their talents. We will all be better as that happens.”

In addition to her great work with the underserved, Ann, an ARCS Atlanta member since 2011, has been very supportive of our ARCS chapter in many ways. She has helped with identifying donors and foundations, administrative help and is only a phone call away for a word of advice. Our chapter is very fortunate to call her one of our own.
