Atlanta ARCS Scholar at UGA Working to Increase Science Communication

Since completing her PhD in Infectious Diseases, Lydia Anderson has been working towards her DVM at the College of Veterinary Medicine. Her clinical research interests span vaccinology, biomarker and diagnostic development, infectious disease surveillance, and viral immunology. She is particularly interested in developing platforms that improve the efficacy of vaccines for animals and humans in order to impact the health of both species via reduced disease in one or both populations.  She is passionate about translating her scientific work into compelling stories as a staff writer for the Athens Science Observer.
