Atlanta, Georgia, July 31,2015 --- ARCS Foundation Atlanta recently received a $22,500 grant from the UPS Foundation, which drives global corporate citizenship and philanthropic programs for UPS (NYSE:UPS).

The UPS donation of $22,500 will be used to support an Atlanta Chapter ARCS Foundation Ph.D. candidate for 3 years.  The scholar will be studying in a top ranked program at a partner university in an area of research related to environmental sustainability or safety.

According to Jane Dolinger, ARCS Foundation Atlanta President, "To keep America competitive in the global market place, we must increase the number of highly trained and skilled STEM scientists. ARCS Foundation is one of very few organizations devoted to this goal. The grant provided by The UPS Foundation affirms the support of corporate America to our organization and our mission."

ARCS Foundation is a national, all-female membership organization dedicated to keeping America competitive by raising money for scholar support for America’s brightest and best students in the STEM Sciences. ARCS Scholars have produced thousands of research publications and patents, secured billions in grant funding, started science related companies, and played a significant role in teaching and mentoring young people in the STEM pipeline.

ARCS Foundation Atlanta, founded in 1992, is one of 16 nationally affiliated chapters and supports scholars at 4 academic partner institutions including Georgia Tech, Emory, University of Georgia and  Morehouse College.  In 2014, we supported 45 scholars for a total of $345,000 in funding.
