Todd Smith was an ARCS Scholar at the University of Georgia during the 2008-2009 academic year. Dr. Smith is currently a microbiologist at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, GA. His research focus is rabies virus vaccine, monoclonal antibodies, and anti-viral compounds.
He received a Directors Recognition Award (2013) and an Honor Award (2014) from the National Center for Emerging and Zoonotic Infectious Diseases for assisting in the investigation of an unusual case of rabies associated with an organ transplant.
