Congratulations to Nancy Chambers who was named as 2019 ARCS Light during the January General Membership Meeting!  Nancy has served as Assistant Treasurer, VP-elect and VP of Finance/Treasurer, and VP-elect and VP for Funds Development within the Atlanta ARCS chapter.  For ARCS National, she has served as VP of Communications, VP of Finance, and member of the Audit Committee. 

2018 ARCS Light Susan Higley “passed the torch” to Nancy. In passing the annual award, Susan noted that it'd been a great honor serving as our Chapter's ARCS Light in 2018 and also an honor to announce Nancy as this year's recipient. Susan further added that being named the 2019 ARCS Light recognizes Nancy's numerous Atlanta and National Board positions, and the many ways she's given her time and talents to our group.

Each year every chapter of ARCS chooses a chapter member as their ARCS Light and those chosen are invited to a special luncheon in their honor at the National Meeting.  In our Atlanta group this outstanding honor is awarded to an active member who has given the highest quality service to our chapter on a long-term basis.  Criteria have been established by the Board as follows:

• Is an Active member in good standing
• Has been an Active member for at least five years
• Has served on various Chapter committees and on the Board of Directors
• Has given continuous service, which has had a positive impact on the Chapter
• Has demonstrated a willingness to serve
• Has the respect of, and is representative of, the Chapter, and
• May not be a sitting President

ARCS Light recipients are chosen each year by a committee consisting of past ARCS Lights who rate the submissions based on the above criteria.
