ARCS Atlanta Members, your 2022 Scholar Awards Celebration team is laser-focused. We are navigating the path to a newly re-imagined event that is live and in-person, while also building upon the best of the last two years virtually.
Our new SAC is a networking social and reception featuring this year’s 53 scholars. This format allows for mixing and mingling at whatever distance you are comfortable. While the location and format is different, what has not changed are the invitees: you and your guests, our sponsors, university representatives, and other supporters. Feedback from our university partners is overwhelmingly positive on this new flexible format. It is a SAC for the future that lends itself to our 2022 theme:
Our scholars are focused on the future. They work to create a better future by engineering bacteria to make biofuels, developing materials to pull water out of the desert air, developing technologies to capture CO2 from the atmosphere, developing micro-robots to perform neurosurgery, bio-printing aortic heart valves capable of regeneration and repair in children, the list goes on.
The future is bright for our chapter as we also celebrate 30 years. We are still getting better.
In order to pull this new SAC off flawlessly, we need your help. The role of Ambassador is back and we need 25 of you to serve in this capacity. There are multiple types of Ambassadors too which are outlined in an email you have received from Betsy Kazazian, the SAC Chair-Elect. Please review and sign up. It’s an easy one-time commitment.
On Thursday, November 17, 2022 from 4-6PM, plan to join the celebration at Georgia Tech’s Parker H. Petit Institute for Bioengineering and Bioscience. More details and an official invitation will come. Until then, I welcome your input and questions.
