ARCS Foundation has been a highlight of my academic career thus far, thank you for the support!
The 2023 ARCS Atlanta Scholar Awards Celebration (SAC) was a glorious recognition of scientific scholarship in the beautiful atrium of the Parker H. Petit Institute for Bioengineering and Bioscience (IBB) at Georgia Tech. The 2023 SAC was a networking reception at which members, donors, and guests chatted informally with scholars to learn about their research.
ARCS Atlanta President Carolynn Cooper welcomed our scholars and guests and thanked Georgia Tech for hosting this event. A scholar representing each of our schools spoke briefly, after which Georgia Tech President Angel Cabrera gave a brilliant speech on the importance of science and the ARCS mission. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wLQSSp7yWzY
In 2023, ARCS Atlanta gave awards to 49 scholars in many different disciplines from Emory, Georgia Tech, Morehouse and UGA. All scholars exhibited poster displays in the atrium of the IBB. A video “Igniting Innovation in Georgia” highlighted the history of ARCS and introduced each scholar. "I can only begin to express how grateful I am for the freedom to pursue an independent line of research without having to worry about how I will pay for the necessary lab supplies or training. This award is allowing me to answer broader and more valuable questions than I had previously thought possible... Thank you so much for your kindness, generosity, and belief in my potential as a scientist."
The work you (ARCS Foundation Atlanta members) have all done is tremendous, and I am so proud to be a part of that legacy. I hope that my work is making you all feel that there has been a good return on your investment.
