Morehouse recently announced that Dr. F DuBois Bowman will be the 13th President of Morehouse College. The current President and our featured speaker at the Scholar Award Celebration, Dr. David Thomas, announced last year his plan to retire this June. Dr. Bowman was a 1992 graduate of Morehouse and is the father of a recent graduate and a current undergraduate. He has remained active with the college and in 2019 was the recipient of the college’s highest honor, the Bennie Trailblazer Award. In his most recent position as the Dean of the School of Public Health at the University of Michigan, Dr. Bowman established a pipeline program for Morehouse and Spelman students. Dr. Bowman is married to Cynthia Bowman, and they have several ties to Atlanta. Previously, Dr. Bowman has held positions at Emory and his wife has degrees from both Spelman and Georgia Tech.
ARCS Atlanta and Morehouse have had a relationship for over 30 years. We welcome Dr. and Mrs. Bowman back to Atlanta and look forward to working with Dr. Bowman as he brings his energy and talents to the college.
