ARCS Atlanta is delighted to announce that Janis Henry is the recipient of the 2026 ARCS Light Award. Janis has been an active member of ARCS Atlanta since 2016. In every year since joining, Janis has taken on one of the “big” jobs that are essential to our chapter. She has served as VP Finance and Assistant Treasurer, she co-chaired our Chapter Retreat to Washington, D.C., she served as Recording Secretary, and she chaired a spectacular Scholar Awards Celebration in 2025.
Janis has been a valuable member of the Communications Committee, the Executive Committee, the Endowment Committee, the Finance Committee, the Funds Development Committee, the Scholar Awards Celebration Committee, and the Retreat Committee.
Janis is the epitome of an ARCS Light. She is always professional, conscientious, and a pleasure to work with. She is quick to credit others and is reluctant to draw attention to her own accomplishments. You can count on Janis to do a job to the highest standards. As one of her proposers said, “She elevates every effort she touches.”
In a note of appreciation, Janis wrote:
“I am so delighted to be the recipient of the 2026 ARCS Light. What a surprise and thrill when you announced my name!
Being a part of ARCS Atlanta has been an incredibly rewarding experience. I am deeply appreciative of the opportunity to work with so many dedicated members committed to our mission.
Every role I have held has been enriched by the support, inspiration, and friendship of the ARCS members I’ve served alongside.
I am truly touched and grateful.”
We are honored to have Janis Henry as our 2026 ARCS Light.
