On Wednesday, January 14, 2026, ARCS Atlanta held their Winter Membership meeting at the new, state-of-the-art Arthur M. Blank Hospital. Approximately 70 ARCS members and guests attended and were treated to guided tours of the hospital and a delicious lunch from Café at Pharr.

We were welcomed by Kristin Bowman, Nursing Practice and Magnet Director at Arthur M. Blank Hospital who has worked at Children’s Hospital of Atlanta for more than 13 years. She gave an interesting overview of the new hospital and provided details related to the patient move into the new hospital on September 29, 2024. “On ‘Patient Move In Day’, 202 patients were transferred from Egleston Hospital in only 10 hours with the help of 65 ambulances and transport vehicles and 4,000 staff and contractors.”

Arthur M. Blank Hospital is the largest healthcare project in the history of Georgia and it is the new benchmark for pediatric care facilities. The building is 19 stories, situated on 76 acres. It currently has 446 beds with expansion capabilities up to 600 beds. It is a Level One Pediatric Trauma Center, the only one in Georgia.

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta operates 3 main hospitals: Arthur M. Blank Hospital, Scottish Rite Hospital, and Hughes Spalding Hospital.

A highlight of the afternoon was the presentation of the 2026 ARCS Light Award to our very deserving member, Janis Henry.
