Retirement Funds

Changes have been made recently to the Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) for an Individual Retirement Account (IRA). These changes have enhanced the tax advantages of making a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD). All or part of an RMD can be gifted to qualified charities and avoid taxation on the personal income generated from taking an RMD. There are age and handling requirements that must be addressed by the donor.

For information on QCD and RMD, see:,up%20to%20%24200%2C000%20per%20year.

Please consider exploring this gifting opportunity with your financial and tax advisor.
