On Wednesday, November 12th, the 2025 ARCS Atlanta Scholar Awards Celebration (SAC) showcased the best of scientific scholarship in the beautiful ballroom of the Piedmont Driving Club. The 2025 SAC was a networking reception and light lunch at which members, donors, and guests chatted informally with the scholars. All scholars exhibited poster displays and guests were eager to learn about their research.
ARCS Atlanta President Frances Swensson welcomed the scholars and guests and recognized Georgia-Pacific and Northside Hospital for their many years of support to ARCS Atlanta and our scholars. Georgia Pacific has supported ARCS Atlanta and our scholars for 20 years and Northside Hospital has supported us 10 years. A scholar representing each of our schools spoke briefly about what the ARCS Awards have meant to them, after which Vice Provost for Graduate Affairs and Dean of the James T. Laney School of Graduate Studies at Emory University, Dr. Kimberly Jacob Arriola spoke to donors and scholars thanking them for their support of science.
In 2025, ARCS Atlanta gave awards to 53 scholars in many different science disciplines from Emory, Georgia Tech, Morehouse, and UGA.

Thanks from Alum Tim Sampson, Postdoctoral Scholar at Caltech
I am immensely grateful to the ARCS Foundation and Turner Enterprises for making my award possible. I am honored to have been part of the talented and promising group of young researchers from the Atlanta-area!
Thanks from Alum Alejandro Toriella, PhD, Assistant Professor, Industrial Engineering, Georgia Tech
Thank you very much for your support. It meant a lot. I had the opportunity to return to Tech as a faculty member last year. I’m very happy to be back and hope I can advise a future ARCS scholar soon!
Thanks from Scholar Natale Sciolino
"Thank you dearly for your generous contribution to my scientific development. Your contribution has had a profound impact on me at both a personal and professional level. It is a privilege to be an ARCS Scholar, and with this support I will continue to pursue research that aims to advance Neuroscience."
