An elegant French picnic was a popular auction item at the 2024 Fall Party. The "Afternoon in Provence" took place on Sunday, November 3rd, the first slightly chilly day of an unusually warm month. As French wine and champagne flowed, the friendship was warm, the conversation was lively, and the French fare was delicious. Suzy Wasserman’s and Leslie Petter’s French picnic began with a French 75 and appetizers of gougeres and radishes on toast as the guests arrived. Six courses followed, salmon raillettes on toasted baguettes, quiche made with white wine and shallots, a salad of fresh spring greens, aromatic cheeses, and profiteroles drizzled with chocolate sauce for dessert. The meal ended with a rich French roast coffee and more champagne. Guests changed seats midway through the feast, so they had the fun of enjoying everyone’s company. A special thank you to the ten generous bidders whose contributions will support our ARCS Atlanta endowment. Finally, thank you to our hostesses and their helpful husbands, Suzy and Steve Wasserman and Leslie and Skip Petter.
