Jimmy Capela

First Year ARCS Scholar

Jimmy Capela is a rising junior majoring in Applied Physics and Nuclear Engineering at Morehouse College. From Detroit, Michigan, he is dedicated to enhancing efficiency through his interests in math and energy. After being introduced to research at Morehouse, Jimmy analyzed wavelength effects on termite behavior. This past summer, he focused on modeling nanocrystals in the Nuclear Science and Engineering department at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Outside of academics, Jimmy enjoys exercising, discussing investments, volunteering, and engaging in lively conversations. His ultimate academic goal is to reduce inequality of outcome and opportunity through education, reflecting his commitment to giving back to the community.
