It was a pleasure to welcome Dr. Eric DeJesus as the first ARCS Scholar to speak to the Lenbrook Community on October 16, 2025.  

As CEO of Annate Bitherapeutics, Inc., a Georgia-based biotech company working to develop new treatments for cancers, Dr. DeJesus highlighted the value of scientific research as he shared his academic journey that began as an ARCS Scholar at the University of Georgia in 2009.  His research on how a natural human protein could be harnessed against cancer led him to create a company where these discoveries will hopefully become therapies that could impact human health.

His journey has included collaborative efforts with teams at the University of Georgia, Emory University Winship Cancer Institute and the Georgia Research Alliance.

Several past and present members of the Atlanta Chapter are Lenbrook residents and enjoyed welcoming him to the Lenbrook community.  His presentation was not only educational but enthusiastically received by the attendees.   

Eric’s poise, knowledge and motivation made quite an impression at our Lenbrook community and verified that he is one of our ARCS Superstars!  We hope that the excellent presentation by Dr. DeJesus will be the first in a series of ARCS presentations we can co-sponsor in the Atlanta community.
