As reported at the January 14, 2026 General Membership Meeting, the final total of our scholarship awards this year was $459,500 – an increase of $18,000 from the previous year and a very good year for ARCS.

This year, an increase in the amount of the awards was approved and awards were raised by 20% -- from $7,500 to $9,000 for awards to Universities and from $5,000 to $6,000 for awards to Morehouse Scholars.  Again this year, awards were made to 53 scholars, as follows:

40 awards of $9,000 – to University Scholars (other than the Herz Global Impact Awards and the Klamon Award) ($360,000)

5 awards of $10,000 – to University Scholars (4 Herz Global Impact Awards and one Klamon Award)

7 awards of $6,000 – to Morehouse Scholars (other than the Glenn Leadership Award)

1 award of $7,500 -  to MorehouseScholar (Glenn Leadership Award)

Meetings of the Funds Development Committee occur monthly, generally on the second Tuesday of each month.  Our next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at 2PM.  Everyone is invited to attend.  I would like to extend a “special” invitation to our newest members to attend a meeting.
