2008 Retreat to Seattle
Fifty ARCS Foundation Atlanta members and guests gathered in Seattle, Washington, April 23–27, 2008, for the chapter's biannual retreat whose theme was capturing the feel of Seattle by water, air, land and art.
Pictured above is David Boyd at the Museum of Flight. After touring the cavernous fascinating facility and boarding Air Force One and the Concord, the group was intrigued with a presentation by Seattle ARCS Foundation member, CEO of the Museum of Flight, and former astronaut, Dr. Bonnie Dunbar.

The work you (ARCS Foundation Atlanta members) have all done is tremendous, and I am so proud to be a part of that legacy. I hope that my work is making you all feel that there has been a good return on your investment.
Thanks from Scholar Kira Newman
"I can only begin to express how grateful I am for the freedom to pursue an independent line of research without having to worry about how I will pay for the necessary lab supplies or training. This award is allowing me to answer broader and more valuable questions than I had previously thought possible... Thank you so much for your kindness, generosity, and belief in my potential as a scientist."
Thanks from Alum Tim Sampson, Postdoctoral Scholar at Caltech
I am immensely grateful to the ARCS Foundation and Turner Enterprises for making my award possible. I am honored to have been part of the talented and promising group of young researchers from the Atlanta-area!
