President’s Introduction of VP Technology
ARCS Atlanta is incredibly excited to begin a new initiative to create ways to expand awareness about our organization through the use of Technology. And as the new VP-Technology, ARCS ATL member Erin Dasher is leading us into this new arena of communicating to larger communities, letting them know about the work our chapter does to support the ARCS Foundation mission.
In 2019, ARCS Atlanta developed a Strategic Plan which included the following:
Improve awareness of ARCS as an organization that champions and raises funds to support college and graduate-level research scientists in Georgia. Using Key Performance Indicators that provide consistent ARCS messaging across all vehicles and opportunities, internally and externally.
Specific strategies to accomplish this goal included:
- Create, fund, and implement a comprehensive ARCS marketing/public relations plan and calendar, including ARCS key messages and more impactful images to be used consistently in all communications.
- Share stories about our science scholars that inspire new and existing donors.
- Create an ARCS’ web presence that accurately reflects the organization and fund and implement within 12 months.
- Develop and implement a social media plan to increase engagement with ARCS.
These goals and directives were adopted by the chapter in January 2020, and with acknowledgment of the faster-paced information exchange on Social Media, combined with the analytics provided about the effectiveness of a more robust, dynamic social media presence, ARCS Atlanta approved the position of VP-Technology to replace the previous Social Media Chair position on the Board of Directors.
