ARCS Atlanta Alignment with UCB

ARCS Atlanta is excited to welcome a new corporate donor, UCB. The company is sponsoring Joshua Weiss, a first-year Scholar at The University of Georgia.

UCB is a $8.9 billion global biopharma company headquartered in Brussels, Belgium establishing its US headquarters in Atlanta in 1993. Founded in 1928, UCB researches, develops and delivers differentiated medicines for people living with severe neurological and autoimmune conditions.

In March 2026, UCB announced it had selected Rowen Development in Gwinnett County as the site for a new biologics manufacturing facility. Spanning approximately 460,000 square feet (8 football fields) the state-of-art campus is designed to be a cornerstone of UCB’s global biogenics manufacturing network. The new facility will strengthen UCB’s manufacturing capabilities, support the innovation pipeline, and create high-quality jobs in Georgia. The significant investment is expected to generate approximately $5 billion in total economic impact on Georgia.

The Gwinnett County site was dedicated on October 9, 2026. The ceremony brought together Georgia, U.S. Department of Commerce, and Gwinnett County officials, the Belgium Consulate, UCB leaders, community partners, and industry stakeholders to celebrate the future site of one of the largest life sciences manufacturing investments in Georgia history.
