Welcome to the Volunteer Resources Directory

Thank you for generously contributing your time and expertise in support of ARCS Foundation’s mission. Your dedication helps advance U.S. scientific competitiveness nationwide. This page, along with the accompanying tools, is designed to guide you through your term and provide easy access to the many resources and guidelines available. Below, you'll find information categorized by volunteer role.  Scroll to the section that best describes you, and follow the instructions. For further assistance, please contact projectmanager@arcsfoundation.org.

ARCS National Officers and Directors, start here.
As an officer and director of ARCS Foundation, you are entrusted with advancing the mission and vision through every decision, meeting, and interaction. A working knowledge of the organization’s governing documents—its bylaws and standing rules—is essential, along with an understanding of the full board structure. To stay aligned with long-term priorities, review the current Long-Range Plan and the latest update from the Enterprise Risk Management Committee. Finally, be sure to mark your calendar for upcoming Executive Committee and National Board meetings.

ARCS Chapter Presidents, start here.
Chapter Presidents, you are the boots on the ground, advancing U.S. scientific competitiveness within your communities—thank you for your leadership. Begin by reviewing the compliance calendar, as these benchmarks are essential to helping National demonstrate the impact of ARCS as a whole. Next, take advantage of key resources: the editorial and visual style guides, which strengthen ARCS’ brand, and the website tutorials, designed to help your chapter operate with efficiency and confidence.

ARCS National Committee Chairs, start here.
As committee chairs, you play a vital role in turning ARCS strategy into action—thank you for going above and beyond. To set yourself up for success, start by reviewing the Google Workspace tutorials. Once completed, send your main Google contact information to operations@arcsfoundation.org. Finally, be sure to mark your calendar to submit the required forms three times each year—on September 1, January 1, and May 1.

All Members

All ARCS members have an important role to play in the National ARCS organization.  Following are items that are useful for all ARCS members.

  • National Calendar

The National Calendar is the place to check for National meetings including Executive meetings, Committee meetings, Collaboration Network meetings, etc.  Each entry should contain the Zoom information for the meeting if appropriate.  To add an event to the National Calendar, please use this Google form.

  • Document Library

The document library is the archive respository for ARCS Foundation, Inc. documents.  The National Library is accesible by all ARCS members and each chapter has a library that is accesible only by members of that chapter.  Using the Document Library for storage prevents having boxes of papers to pass along to new officers and provides a centralized location for important chapter and national documents.

  • Website Help

If you work with the website, either updating web pages, sending mailings or setting up events, check here for tutorials and "how to's".  The IS Committee is available to help you utilize all the features of the website (mailings, event registration, document storage, member, scholar and donor record keeping, etc.).  Please contact is.help@arcsfoundation.org any time you have questions.

  • Google Workspace Help

ARCS National has a non-profit Google Workspace account.  This enables the organization to have email addresses that end in @arcsfoundation.org and gives us access to Google drive space, Google photo storage, Google forms, etc.  We have a number of short videos which introduce different Google related skills.   ASG is the main adminstrator of our Google Workspace account so send questions to googlehelp@arcsfoundation.org.
